Quotes & pricing

How do I request a quote?

Use our online quote form, email info@wisco.zachbower.com, or call (715) 869-4726. You can also stop by the shop during business hours.

Are estimates free?

Yes. Estimates are always free, with no obligation.

What should I send for an accurate quote?

A drawing or CAD file (PDF, DXF, DWG, or STEP) is ideal, but a clear sketch or photo with key dimensions works too. Include the material and thickness, the quantity, any finish requirements, and when you need the parts.

How is the price of a part determined?

Mainly by the material, the number of operations, setup time, quantity, finish, and timing. Setup is shared across every part in an order, so the price per part usually drops as the quantity goes up. Our design guide lists ten ways to lower your cost.

Is there a minimum order?

No. We're happy to make a single part, and we treat small jobs with the same care as large ones.

Capabilities

What services do you offer?

We laser cut, form, weld, and machine metal, as single operations or combined into a finished part or assembly. We also take on custom fabrication and repair projects. See all services.

What materials do you work with?

We work with carbon and mild steel, stainless steel, and aluminum, in sheet, plate, bar, tube, pipe, and structural shapes. Have something else in mind? Ask us.

Do you take custom orders?

Yes. Custom work is what we do. Whether you need a single prototype or parts built to your exact specifications, we'll work with you to get it right.

Can you copy a part if I don't have a drawing?

Often, yes. Bring in the original part, or send clear photos with a tape measure in the frame. We'll measure it and confirm the details with you before we build.

What tolerances can you hold?

It depends on the part, the material, and the feature. Tell us which dimensions are critical and we'll confirm what we can hold before we quote. Saving tight tolerances for the features that need them keeps the cost down.

Do you offer painting or powder coating?

Tell us the finish you need when you request a quote, and we'll let you know how we can handle it.

Files & drawings

What file formats do you accept?

PDF drawings, DXF and DWG files for flat and cut parts, and STEP files for 3D parts. Photos (JPG or PNG) and hand sketches are fine too. For cut parts, a 1:1-scale DXF with the units noted works best.

Do I need a professional drawing?

No. Many of our projects start with a sketch, a photo, or an old part. We'll ask the questions needed to get it right.

Can you help with the design?

Yes, practically. We'll suggest changes that make a part easier to build, stronger, or less expensive, and we're happy to review drawings for free. Structural designs that require engineering approval should come with an engineer's drawings.

Will you keep my drawings confidential?

Yes. Your drawings and files are used only to quote and build your parts.

Lead times & delivery

What is your turnaround time?

It depends on the size and complexity of the job and our current schedule. We'll give you a realistic lead time with your quote and keep you posted if anything changes.

Can you handle rush jobs?

Call us. If our schedule allows, we'll do our best to help, and we'll be upfront about what's realistic.

Do you deliver?

Most customers pick up at our shop. Ask about delivery for larger jobs and repeat orders.

Visiting & working with us

Can I visit your shop?

Absolutely. Stop by during business hours (Monday–Friday, 9 a.m.–5 p.m.) to talk through your project, bring in a part, or see our capabilities firsthand. Calling ahead helps make sure the right person is available.

What are your hours?

Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. We're closed Saturday and Sunday.

Where are you located, and what area do you serve?

Our shop is at 100 Bean St., Clear Lake, WI 54005, in Polk County. We serve customers across western Wisconsin and the Twin Cities metro. See our service area.

Are you hiring?

Yes. We're hiring for our second shift: a lead/supervisor with fabrication or welding experience, laser operators, press brake operators, and material handlers. See open positions.
